No Cookies

Important Stuff

A lot of folks on the internet do not like using cookies, mostly because they are afraid of Big Brother looking over their shoulders and finding out exactly what they are doing....

As it turns out, this fear is not entirely unfounded.

Sadly, with all of our modern web technology, I have still been unable to make a 100% reliable user connection algorithm that doesn't use cookies. I'm really sorry about that, but it's pretty much the way things are.

Therefore, werdna.com allows users to log in without cookies, using the IP address of the user's machine to figure out who they are. The login times out after a while, but while it is active, anyone using your IP address will be able to see your pages and pretend to be YOU. Be sure to hit the Log Out! link in the header when you are finished playing.

For most people, this doesn't really matter very much. However, sometimes you will find yourself sharing an IP address. If you are having problems, turn cookies back on while you are playing on werdna.com.

werdna.com only leaves a single cookie, containing a session id. You are safe from us. For your convenience, next to your handle in the header of each page, werdna.com will tell you what method it is currently using to determine who you are (Cookie or IP).

If someone out there has a brilliant plan to allow safe logins without cookies or java or browser-dependent code, please let me know at the address at the bottom of the page.
