You can augment your planets' production through trade.
To begin trading, build a Trader ship. Issue a "Trade with" command
to the Trader, selecting the link that the Trader will use to travel.
The Trader will go back and forth along this link, picking up and
dropping off cargo as it goes. Both planets benefit from the trades.
Traders will keep trading until the link vanishes, you tell them to
stop, or they are destroyed.
Warships will not attack Traders unless they are blockading the link that the Trader is using.
The Traders construct stockpiles of trade goods on the planets that
they visit. You can see how your stockpile is
doing by looking at the planetary attributes on the planet summary
page. It will look something like this:
Stockpile: 4/20
The first number in the description is the amount of production saved
up in the current stockpile. The second number is the maximum
potential stockpile size for that planet. Each turn, a planet uses
some of the production stored in its stockpile to enhance its normal
production.
Although you can set up trade routes inside your own empire, you will
benefit far more from trade with other empires. Be careful, however-
trade with other empires requires that neither side blockade the trade
link, leaving both of you vulnerable to treachery.
